FTP is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol. It is a system that allows you to transfer files from your computer to your WordPress hosting server, and vice versa. You can use FTP to upload themes, plugins, and media files to your WordPress website. In this article, we will show you how to use FTP to upload files to WordPress.

Before we begin, you will need to gather the following information:

• FTP Hostname – This is the address of your FTP server. Your hostname will be in the format: ftp.example.com.

• FTP Username – This is your FTP username.

• FTP Password – This is your FTP password.

• FTP Port – This is the port number that is used to connect to your FTP server. The default FTP port is 21.

Now that you have all the information that you need, let’s get started.

The first thing you need to do is connect to your FTP server. You can do this using an FTP client such as FileZilla or Transmit.

Once you are connected, you will see two sections in your FTP client. The section on the left is your Local site and the section on the right is your Remote site.

The Remote site is your WordPress hosting server and the Local site is your computer. You need to navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files on the Local site.

Then, select the files that you want to upload and drag and drop them into the Remote site.

That’s it! You have successfully uploaded files to your WordPress website using FTP.
