Adding Google Maps in WordPress is a great way to help your visitors find your location. There are a few different ways to add Google Maps in WordPress, but we’ll show you the easiest method.
To add Google Maps in WordPress, you’ll need to install and activate the Google Maps Widget plugin. For more information, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.
Once the plugin is activated, you’ll need to get a Google Maps API key. Don’t worry, it’s easy to get one. Just head over to the Google Developers Console and create a new project.
Enter a name for your project and click the “Create” button.
After that, you’ll be asked to enable some APIs. Just scroll down and find the “Google Maps JavaScript API” and click the “Enable” button.
Now you’ll need to create some credentials. Click on the “Credentials” link in the left sidebar and then click the “Create credentials” button.
On the next screen, you’ll need to select “API key” from the dropdown.
Enter a name for your API key and click the “Create” button.
You’ll now see your API key. Copy and paste it somewhere safe as you’ll need it in a minute.
Now that you have your Google Maps API key, head back to your WordPress site and enter it in the plugin settings.
To do that, go to Settings » Google Maps Widget and enter your API key in the “Google Maps API Key” field.
You can now go to Appearance » Widgets and drag and drop the “Google Maps Widget” into your sidebar.
You can now enter your address and the map will automatically appear in your sidebar.
