Installing WordPress using FTP can be a little daunting for beginners. But it’s actually not that difficult once you know what you’re doing.
In this article, we’ll show you how to install WordPress using FTP in just a few easy steps.
Before we get started, you’ll need to have the following:
Access to your server via FTP
A text editor (like Notepad++ or Sublime Text)
A WordPress install file
Step 1: Download the WordPress Install File
First things first, you’ll need to download the latest WordPress install file. You can do this by going to the WordPress.org website and clicking on the “Download WordPress” button.
Once the file has downloaded, you’ll need to unzip it.
Step 2: Upload the WordPress Files to Your Server
Next, you’ll need to upload the WordPress files to your server. You can do this using an FTP client like FileZilla.
Once you’ve connected to your server, you’ll need to upload the unzipped WordPress files to the public_html directory.
Step 3: Create a Database for WordPress
Now that the WordPress files are on your server, you’ll need to create a database for WordPress.
To do this, you’ll need to login to your hosting account’s control panel (cPanel). Once you’re logged in, you’ll need to scroll down to the “Databases” section and click on the “MySQL Databases” icon.

Once your database has been created, you’ll need to create a user for the database. To do this, scroll down to the “MySQL Users” section and enter a username and password in the “Add New User” fields.

On the next page, you’ll need to select the “All Privileges” option and click on the “Make Changes” button.
