Assuming that you have installed WordPress on your localhost and you don’t remember the password of your admin account, don’t worry. In this article, we will show you how to easily reset WordPress password on localhost.
First thing you need to do is connect to your WordPress site using an FTP client. Once you are connected, go to the /wp-content/ directory and look for a file named config.php.
Right-click on the config.php file and choose Code Editor. A new window will open containing the code of your config.php file.
Look for the following line of code in your config.php file:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
Change false to true and then save your changes.
Now go back to your WordPress site and try to login. You should see the following message:
“Debugging is on. WordPress will display debugging information on your site.”
Click on the link that says “Click here to continue”.
You will be taken to the login page. Enter your username and leave the password field blank. Now click on the “Log In” button.
You will be taken to the WordPress password reset page. Enter your new password and click on the “Reset Password” button.
You have now successfully reset your WordPress password on localhost.
