Shopify – How To Connect A Third Party Domain
If you want to connect a third-party domain to your Shopify store, the process is fairly simple.
First, you need to log into your Shopify admin and go to ‘Online Store’. Then click on Domains in the left sidebar menu.
From there, you can select ‘Connect existing domain’ and enter the domain you want to link.
After that, you need to set up DNS records with your domain registrar (the company where you bought the domain from). Shopify provide instructions and recommended settings for specific providers on their Help Center website.
These instructions will include things like adding an A Record and CNAME Record.
If you’re not sure what settings to use, or don’t know how to set the DNS records on your-party domain registrar contact their customer support team.
Once you’ve finished setting up the DNS records it can take some time for them to propagate ( to 24-48 hours).
Once they’re verified, the domain should be connected to Shopify and ready to use.
If you have any issues connecting your domain or need more help, contact Shopify Support.
They’ll be able to provide further assistance with setting up the DNS records or any other problems you might encounter. Good luck!
Shopify is a platform for businesses of all stages to create an online store. It offers users a customizable platform, an easy-to-use checkout process, and a wide range of features. One of the great things about Shopify is that it can be integrated with a number of third-party services. This allows businesses to add extra functionality to their store, such as a live chat widget or a loyalty program. In this article, we will show you how to connect a third-party domain to your Shopify store.
If you have already registered a domain name with a third-party provider, such as GoDaddy, you can connect it to your Shopify store in just a few steps. First, you will need to log in to your Shopify admin and navigate to the “Domains” section. Next, click on the “Connect existing domain” button.
Enter your domain name in the “Domain” field and click on the “Next” button.
Shopify will now provide you with two DNS records that you will need to add to your domain’s DNS settings. These records will allow Shopify to connect your domain to your store. Once you have added the DNS records, click on the “Finish” button.
It can take up to 48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate. Once the changes have propagated, your domain will be connected to your Shopify store and you will be able to access it using the domain name.
If you don’t have a domain name yet, you can purchase one directly from Shopify. Just enter the domain name you want in the “Domain” field and click on the “Search” button.
Shopify will show you if the domain name is available and you can add it to your cart.
Once you have added the domain to your cart, you can checkout and complete the purchase. The domain will be automatically connected to your Shopify store.
Connecting a third-party domain to your Shopify store is a quick and easy process that can be completed in just a few minutes. This will allow you to use your own domain name for your store and give you more control over your brand.
