Part 7: Ads
hello lads it’s time for ads with the Nomad Bret I thought that would be pretty funny let’s talk about hats I’ll pause for your hysterical laughter continue okay can I get started thank you all right so what should I put in the ad this is another common very common question something that I wondered for a long time I used to think about it and stress about it and I read a lot of books about copywriting and I just never thought I was quite getting the right idea and I kept studying and studying not the way to do it mmm wasting a lot of time start with AD hacking if you don’t know what that is it’s covered in depth in the rest of the course and we’re gonna have a whole section on it in the master class so check that out but ad hacking is basically an adaptation of Russell Brunson’s funnel hacking method which is it’s a tried-and-true thing that’s worked for all eternity which is modeling what’s already working it’s not an original idea but you know here we are so it’s always where you should start for doing keyword research doing any kind of research really just in life if you want to know how to do something that works really well go look at you know something someone or something that’s already doing it really well and model it you know try to do your best to get the same idea without copying it so real quick just go to Bing comm and see what’s working you can also do this on google.com just to see you know compare the two but obviously the most specific to what you’re doing is on bing because you’re running ads on bing and some products and niches whatever aren’t is available or just aren’t allowed on on google but if you want to do further in-depth research into that product or that niche or whatever you can also look on google.com type in the same thing and get the results but this will do 80% of the work most of the time so ad hacking the idea of bone broth recipes that we’ve been talking about you can see there’s a whole bunch of different searches that you may or may not have thought of that people are searching and by the way the little thing that shows how many searches per month right next to it that’s actually a free Chrome extension called keywords everywhere I’ll probably talk about it a lot but if you’re wondering hey my big comm doesn’t show those things how do I get that check out keywords everywhere com it’s free it’s a Chrome extension so you go to Bing com type in your keyword or your niche or the product that you’re looking to promote and see what comes up and you should go through several different pages of results just to see because add the add platform is not always going to give the same people the same spots to mix it’s always mixing different ads up so just click through the different pages and see so here you can see the top three results for the first one that I looked for was one dr. axe which is trademark you know a brand but basically it’s a looks like it’s an e-commerce store his ecommerce store where he’s selling probably well it looks like he’s selling a cookbook so he has a bone broth cookbook so you can get a lot of things from this just from these three results it gives you ideas that you might not have come up with and they’re ideas that are already working and people are paying money for so there’s probably something good to them you can see some of the benefits that they talk about about this particular thing like rejuvenate your health maybe rejuvenate is a word that that niche really responds to you can see that the first result is just very straightforward it’s bone broth cookbook they obviously dr. axe has a brand so the brand carries a lot of weight with a lot of people pretty famous so they’re putting that first but so if you were promoting a not dr. axe cookbook obviously it’s not a good idea to put dr. axe but they are just going straight for the exact relevancy of bone broth cookbook but you can also look in the description and you can see some of the words that they used nourish the whole body with recipes and natural supplements from dr. axe brimming with certain nutrients so nutrients nourish whole body benefits often attributed to bone broth there so they’re talking about the health benefits of bone broth in in their description and then they they leverage the cred ability of their brand dr. axe comm has been visited by 10k users in the past month or maybe that’s maybe that’s a stat that Bing is providing I’m not sure there’s some other things that they’re putting in the ad non-gmo that must be important to this audience USDA approved they’re probably selling supplements well no I guess this is a cookbook certified organic Paleo so you can see some themes are already stuck you know popping up just from looking at the first ads copy the headline is straight to the point right to a cookbook it’s very relevant to exactly what they’re searching for well I guess I mean we typed in recipes and so you might not have thought recipes in cookbook are so well related but obviously they are bone broth protein probiotics this is all kind of creating an image in my in my mind for a market gut formula so the word gut probably a lot of people who are looking for bone broth are looking for gut stuff supports healthy gut and immunity with gut blend probiotics more collagen I don’t know much about but about bone broth but collagen might be another word so just you know take notes like write down all these words and they’ll start to form a theme and image and literally you can see that the top result just says bone broth cookbook rejuvenating your health so that’s something you could model bone broth facts what makes this stuff special I would guess that this isn’t like a super powerful ad this kind of unless the market really really is just craving information about bone broth if you were trying to promote a cookbook I probably wouldn’t model this ad as much but you could take pieces from it because this looks like a very broad they’re just trying to like cast a wide net with bone broth facts they’re trying to educate people on bone broth which if you’ve ever read the book breakthrough advertising by Eugene Schwartz he says that educating the audience is the most expensive advertising dollar you can ever spend you want to try to step in front of what they already want that a need or a desire that they’re already craving that you don’t have to create these people are trying to create a craving I don’t think that’s a super effective ad but maybe they know that they’re just trying to like you know get as many people as possible or something slowly simmered in batches for 24 hours from maximum nutrition find out more also not a very super compelling headline but again health benefits brawn broth is made so I’m guessing a lot of people do have a lot of questions about bran broth the fact that it says what makes this stuff special I mean it is a question that’s in that’s curiosity that’s engaging as far as the copy goes but the benefits the benefits of bone broth so far those two that theme has been in the top two adds the benefits what it’s doing for your body and then then the next one says oh all bone broth 39 97 so that’s pretty general but it is going for a price maybe it’s fine to put prices in the ads for for things like this buy bone broth protein powder here made by dr. Josh axe and enjoy Ruben so they’re targeting pretty broadly as well so I’d say the best add to model in this set is the top one that’s just going right for a cookbook rejuvenating your health but then you can model things you could put you know bone broth cookbook 39 97 if that is in fact how much whatever the price is of the product that you’re promoting or that you are trying to sell so if your book is $12 or the affiliate book that you’re promoting is $12 then you can put the price in the headline so maybe yeah so obviously you can’t put dr. axe unless you’re an affiliate for dr. axe and you have permission to put their name then you don’t want to mislead people but you could say bone broth cookbook 1297 and now sometimes it’s going to show up where yours is going to be one of these options and they’re gonna see let’s see bone broth cookbook for thirty nine ninety seven or twelve ninety seven they might immediately be drawn to that so that’s some add hacking so general theme of what you want to put as your headline is just put the idea that you’re trying to you know that you’ve built your campaign and your ad groups around as the headline so bone broth recipes put want bone broth recipes question mark click here or 101 bone broth recipes get the cookbook now something like that but just just stick very closely to the theme don’t try to out you know overthink it and try to be creative and clever just put what they’re searching for in the headline and that’s gonna work like 90% of the time that’s going to get really good click-through rate and if what you have and the other side of that click the after the click phase is good then you’re gonna do well example free bone broth recipe hmm so if you just put that at the top maybe you just want people to come to this blog article that pre sells the cookbook or whatever but if you put free bone broth recipe as the headline it’s gonna get a really high click-through rate when people are searching for bone broth recipes it’s just very very relevant we’ll talk about that a lot so yeah I just put the idea as the headline so free bone broth recipe download free book so this would be a very very relevant ad that would get a really good click-through rate there’s a shortcut to this that you can try out and see how it does for you which is called the bracket keyword technique and basically this is if you if you set it up exactly like shown like is shown on the screen then what it’s going to do is in the top part of the title in the headline it’s going to replace instead of having you know these brackets it’s just gonna put whatever they search for and the query right into the headline it’s literally gonna be the exact same thing that it’s dynamic so if they search free bone broth broth recipe it’s gonna say free bone broth recipe if they say bone broth recipe is terrible it’s gonna show bone broth recipe is terrible download free book so just use that you can add that to your tool set to use where you see fit and try it out it can work really really well it usually gets a really high click-through rate it doesn’t always get a great conversion rate and you have a little less control because you don’t know exactly what they’re searching for but if you tightly control your ad groups and your campaigns then you have a lot less of that problem and again this is a great way to get extremely high click-through rates so this is kind of a shortcut to that process of creating a relevant headline it’s literally exactly what they search for so it’s extremely relevant to what they’re searching for and it’s always relevant so try that out so for the description that like kind of meteor part of the ad I know I used to get kind of tired out by trying to think of what to put in there but you can already see just from if you if you I’ll put a link below this video to the ad hacking worksheet so you can go through look at the ads that are working in that particular niche or that particular product and write down some of the themes that you see write down some of the words that pop up or the ideas that pop up in every single ad and if you just put your rough your best attempt at kind of hitting that same thing and linking it to the product you’re promoting then you’re gonna do pretty well so just model the ad hacked ideas that you get and check out the the worksheet and here or in the ad hacking section later in the program you can download that so a pro tip is to use the main keyword throughout so if your keyword that you’re targeting with your campaign and your ad groups has bone broth recipes then just sprinkle that in throughout I’ll show you an example here so this is a very very relevant ad to this keyword so it says free bone broth recipe as the headline at the title and then also in the path section you can see it also says bone bone broth recipes this is like a little secret to AdWords and Bing which is they highlight the keyword in the results so the more times you have your keyword in your result the more times there’s going to be an extra blue highlight so your ads gonna stick out a little more so it’s always a good idea to put it everywhere that you can not ridiculous you know it has to actually sound natural but here we have it three different times in the same ad so it kind of makes writing ad copy a lot easier you’re really just okay I need to have the keyword as many times as possible and then fill it in with some relevant you know ideas or what I want them to do so it just makes writing ads a lot easier so just you know free bone broth recipe in the title bone broth and then recipes at the path so those now are going to be highlighted so it will usually increase click-through rate a lot then free bone broth bone broth recipes once
