what’s up everybody it’s the Nomad brat and welcome to affiliate secrets I have a pretty awesome group of friends here we are hanging out in New Orleans we’re all digital nomads we all make our living online selling our own and other people’s products so we want to help you today discover the secrets of making your first online affiliate commissions so that you know well you can do whatever you want but we choose to use that to travel and hang out with our friends and have a good time mm-hmm but also pay the bills to live here yeah that’s true and any Gators for the team and Gators great stuff so we’re really excited to share with you some things that we’ve learned over the years collectively we’ve all you know through working for clients or for ourselves have made I would say somewhere in the millions of dollars Eliott easily marketing I mean yeah there are all sorts of different methods yeah we’re sharing millions of millions we’ve tried it all guys and that’s literally the only job I’ve ever had is being an internet marketers so so we’re gonna tell you about things that we’ve been doing for like the last 10 years well up to what’s working right now yeah 2018 we’re all currently making money from affiliate marketing as well so sole professional yeah how do we get to sit here and do this yeah so alright so let’s start out with I wanted to talk about I think the most important thing when you’re in guinea is taking stock of what resources you have access to so some people different people are going to be watching this some people are gonna have like say they work at a job to make a decent amount of money and they just want to figure out how to build a passive income for themselves on the side so that they can eventually quit their job so they have the resource of money right maybe a little lower on time but they have money that’s a really important resource some people have you know less money but they are willing to you work their ass off and put in lots of time and learn new things that’s another resource and there’s also the resource of knowledge or skills so we’ll talk about that a little bit more but if you have a particular skill that is valuable to other people then you’re you have an advantage in the affiliate marketing game because you’re going to be really well connected to a market of people that are interested in products so the first step to you know before you get into like which products to promote or where to get your traffic or whatever we’re gonna talk about all that the first thing is just take stock of what resources you have do you have no money but you’re willing to put in lots of time and learn new skills or do you have some cash and you’d actually prefer a method that’s a little bit faster what might take you some money to get started so I think another thing to probably be conscious of is is is it something that you enjoy doing because if it’s gonna be something that you’re gonna put any amount of time and effort into you should probably care about it a little bit you want to smell me return I mean I would think that like I do this because I love doing it right I enjoy marketing and doing online work all the time and being able to travel and stuff so and work particularly in the dating niche mm-hmm that’s something I cared greatly about so for me it’s like I loved it working on it every day and I think that’s probably something you should define that’s a really good advantage that some of you will have is that you are passionate about something however I do know other people that make money from selling products that they don’t give a crap about they don’t they don’t care well what they’re passionate about isn’t the actual market it’s the process of marketing right they’re passionate about running Google Ads and finding a niche that’s going to be profitable and looking at all the data like that’s where I’m at right now like I’m selling a lot of stuff I couldn’t care less about but the process the only thing that the business like the process of connecting all the dots that he’s going to tell you about I really like that it’s interesting that’s your passion that’s what I’m countering out again playing the game of affiliate marketing so some people have an advantage where they’re like like Matt I [ __ ] love doing this I can wake up and that probably gives you a lot of insight into that market because you live in it you know you like live and breathe it every day and usually – that’s when we’ve seen people who come out of nowhere and like to make a ton of money really fast it’s because they were really dialed in on some market that they didn’t realize they were dialed in on it they just really love something and that gave them an advantage but you don’t have to love it you just have to be willing to work and you know love the process of making a lot of money you might think well people get stuck on this they like right what’s my passion I don’t know my passion is just make your passion finding something that’s valuable to other people and making money off of it and you want the wrong it but if you do have a passion that can be a big boost to know where to spend your time because of the gloriousness of the internet and especially social media almost anything these days can be turned into an affiliate marketing niche like if you’re marketing things on Amazon for example that’s just stuff I mean every you can buy anything on Amazon so if you’re interested in something like you know of mountain biking then you could create a affiliate blog and you could find ways to get traffic or a YouTube channel where you’re reviewing you know mountain biking things and and recommending them on Amazon so it’s a really awesome time to get into affiliate marketing because almost any passion or niche can be turned into money which is awesome yeah and you should be able to find anything that you really enjoy already created out there so if that’s the overall goal to be you know just as strictly affiliate right you’ll find if you love puppies you’re gonna find a thousand companies that make great puppy products yeah and you’ll be you know marketing and things that even want and if you love it you probably have already bought some of those products you thought that maybe that’s how you got into this yeah you know yeah so those are some of the resources that you might have access you might have passion for a niche in which case start there if you don’t have passion and you have money then we’re going to talk about paid traffic that’s the place to start if you just want to figure out the skill set of running ads to a landing page or to a video or whatever and selling someone else’s product building a list we’ll talk about all of that so money is a resource skills our resource time is a resource if you have less time but you have more money then I would go with paid traffic if you have more time less money then we’re gonna talk about some free traffic methods because basically all of affiliate marketing is going to boil down to the two essential pieces of marketing in general traffic and conversion you’re gonna need to get people to a web page and then have some number of the people that come to that web page click a button to buy a product and you’re gonna get a commission based on that sale that’s the like really really basic overview and there are lots of different ways to do it and they all work
