One of the most important elements of a website is the contact form. It allows visitors to get in touch with the site owner or company and is essential for building relationships and turning visitors into customers.

Fortunately, contact forms are easy to create in WordPress. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a contact form in WordPress step by step.

Why Use a Contact Form?

There are several reasons why you might want to add a contact form to your WordPress site:

It speeds up the process of getting in touch. Your visitors don’t have to open their email client, compose a message, and then send it to you.

A contact form is more reliable than email. Email can be unreliable, especially if you have a lot of spam.

A contact form allows you to collect information. You can ask for your visitor’s name, email address, phone number, and any other information you need.

A contact form adds a level of professionalism to your site. It shows that you’re serious about interacting with your visitors.

Now that you know the benefits of using a contact form, let’s take a look at how to create one in WordPress.

How to Create a Contact Form in WordPress

The easiest way to create a contact form in WordPress is with the WPForms plugin. This plugin makes it easy to create and customize forms without any coding.

First, you’ll need to install and activate the WPForms plugin. For more information, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Once the plugin is activated, you’ll need to create a new form. To do this, go to WPForms » Add New in your WordPress admin area.

On the next screen, you’ll need to choose a form template. For this tutorial, we’ll use the Simple Contact Form template. You can, of course, choose any other template you want.

Once you’ve selected a template, WPForms will create a new form for you. Next, you need to configure the form fields and settings.

To do this, click on the Fields tab on the left-hand side of the screen. This will open up the field manager where you can add, edit, and delete fields.

For a simple contact form, you’ll need to add the following fields:

Name

Email

Message

However, you can also add other fields such as phone number, address, and website URL.

Once you’ve added the fields, click on the Save button to store your changes.

WPForms also allows you to configure email notifications. This means that you’ll be notified via email whenever someone submits your form.

To do this, go to the Settings tab and click on the Notifications link. On the next screen, you’ll need to provide your email address and select the format for the email notification.

You can also add a subject line and message body for the email notification. Once you’re happy with your settings, click on the Save button to store your changes.

Now that you’ve configured your form, it’s time to add it to your WordPress site. WPForms makes it easy to do this with their shortcodes and widgets.

To use a shortcode, simply add the shortcode to the post or page where you want to display the form.
