When I first stumbled upon SubMagic, for a moment I panicked a little bit because this is what I’ve been doing for my clients and SubMagic does a really amazing job of it and completely automatic.

And then you can preview it here. You can choose the language that you want to be transcribed and you can change the title here so I’ll just delete that and that’s it.

Now we’re going to click upload and it’s going to be uploading our video. It’s already 100% done while I’ve just been talking live. Now it’s going to generate the captions.

My Captioning Journey

So if you’re not familiar with other programs that do this, like for example in my agency I’ve been using a variety of different tools as my skills have improved at the actual captioning.

First I started with Descript which is really amazing. I would highly recommend you check that out too. I have a link to like a review below if you want to see what Descript’s all about.

It’s a really good overall editor but it also captions very well and that was my starting point.

And then I learned about CapCut which is a very popular tool that a lot of people use and is actually really good at captions as well.

In the video above you can see a clip that I edited with CapCut and if I hit play it looks pretty cool and CapCut does a pretty good job.

But it’s a little bit more of a traditional editor and a little bit more manual, whereas this is fully automated.

The Trade-Offs

So the trade-off here with SubMagic is honestly not much. You’re not trading much off. You lose a little bit of the ability to be fully customized and I think that’s where having your own editor comes in to do that full customization and just make it perfect.

But honestly if you are like a solopreneur, if you are a business owner who just doesn’t want to pay somebody like me to do the full customized experience, then I would highly recommend you check out SubMagic because at that price point being able to do unlimited videos you can basically run all your videos through this and get all your captions done and they’re done really well.

Alex Hormozi Style Templates

So you can see here if you’re familiar with Alex Hormozi then they already have pre-made styles that mimic his style really well.

They have his exact colors that he uses and there’s several different versions that he uses and they’re all pre-loaded into the app which is really amazing.

So what you do is you can go through and if you see here I’ll just hit play you can see it’s very closely mimicking Hormozi’s style.

And if you want to I would probably even just make the text a little bit bigger. They let you customize that. They let you customize the position. This is the stuff that editors like me would do anyways and you can customize the colors too.

These are just like starting off with Alex Hormozi’s default colors and you can see that it’s automatically going to randomly choose words to highlight in color. So it’s doing 80 or 90 percent of what like Alex’s team is doing and I just think it’s incredible.

So you can just go through here make any corrections you want and obviously I’m using the free version so there’s a watermark on here but if you were to upgrade to either of the paid versions then you know that would go away.

And so that’s pretty much it, that’s SubMagic and I gotta say I’m pretty blown away.

Bonus Feature: AI-Generated Descriptions

The last feature here is a description. So if you’re going to be posting this on social media it will use AI to read all the words and generate a description for you automatically.

Final Thoughts

If you want to fully automate your caption creation and do it with AI and do it in a really classy really stylized way then I would highly recommend SubMagic.

It’s got really good captioning, it’s got templates based on some of the most popular social media influencers and the description automated automatic generation as well.
