ClickBank vs Digistore24: Fees, Products and Which to Join

ClickBank and Digistore24 do the same job. Each is a marketplace where vendors list digital products and affiliates promote them for a commission, with the platform handling payment, tax and payouts. ClickBank is the older, US-based name. Digistore24 started in Germany and has grown quickly in English-speaking markets. The fees are close, so the choice mostly comes down to setup cost and where your audience is.

Fees for vendors

ClickBank keeps 7.5% plus $1 of each sale. New vendors also pay a one-time activation fee of $49.95.

Digistore24 charges 7.9% plus $1 per transaction, with no setup fee, no activation fee and no monthly subscription.

On a $50 product, ClickBank takes $4.75 and Digistore24 takes $4.95. That 20-cent gap means ClickBank’s lower rate only recovers its activation fee after roughly 250 sales at that price. For a vendor testing a first product, Digistore24 is cheaper to start. For an established seller at volume, ClickBank’s rate is slightly better.

For affiliates

Both are free to join and both let you browse a marketplace, grab a tracking link and start promoting. Neither requires you to own a product.

ClickBank’s marketplace is strongest in US-focused categories such as health, self-improvement and make-money-online offers. It publishes a gravity score that shows how many affiliates are currently making sales with a product.

Digistore24 has a broad catalog too, and it is the stronger choice for European audiences, with a large range of German-language products alongside English ones.

Payments and payouts

Both platforms act as the seller of record. They collect the payment, deal with sales tax or VAT, handle refunds and pay the vendor and affiliate their shares. This is the main reason to use either one: you do not have to run your own affiliate tracking or tax compliance.

Payout schedules and minimum thresholds differ and are set in your account, so check them before you rely on the cash flow.

Product quality

Both marketplaces contain strong offers and weak ones. Read the sales page, check the refund rate where it is shown, and buy the product yourself if you plan to put real traffic behind it.

Which should you choose?

  • Vendors launching a first product: Digistore24, because there is no upfront fee.
  • Vendors with volume in the US market: ClickBank, for the lower percentage and larger US affiliate base.
  • Affiliates: join both. It is free, and the best offer for your audience may be on either one.
