Elementor Create a Content Lock Popup in WordPress

With the Elementor Content Lock Popup you can display a message or form to users before they can view your content.

This helps encourage more signups and engagement with your website as well as providing an extra layer of security for your content. It’s easy to set up and customize, so let’s get started!

First, go to Elementor > Content Lock from the WordPress dashboard. Here you can create a new content lock, configure the settings and customize your popup’s appearance.

You can choose from several pre-made templates or design your own unique look and feel.

Once you’ve chosen a template and customized it to match your website, activate your content lock by selecting the ‘Enable Content Lock’ option.

You can then choose which type of content you want to lock, such as specific posts, pages or even entire categories.

Next, determine who will be able to view your locked content by setting user roles and access levels. This helps make sure that only the people you want to have access to your exclusive content are able to view it.

Finally, you can add custom messages that will appear when someone tries to access a locked piece of content.

This is a great way to let visitors know what they need to do in order to unlock the content or get more information about why it’s locked.

Now that you’ve set up your content lock, you can use it to keep any part of your website secure and only accessible to the people you want.

This helps ensure that no one can access private or sensitive information without the proper authorization.

Creating a content lock is an excellent way to protect valuable content on your website and give exclusive access to those who need it. By taking advantage of this feature, you can ensure that your content remains secure and private.

If you want to grow your email list, you need to create content that’s worth subscribing to. But how do you get people to subscribe in the first place?

One way is to use a content lock feature in WordPress. This allows you to “lock” certain pieces of content behind a subscription form. That way, people can only access the content if they sign up for your email list.

In this post, we’ll show you how to easily create a content lock popup in WordPress. We’ll also share some best practices for creating subscription forms that convert.

Let’s get started!

What is a Content Lock Popup?

A content lock popup is a lightbox popup that appears when a visitor tries to access locked content on your website. The popup contains a subscription form that the visitor must fill out to gain access to the content.

This is a great way to grow your email list because it allows you to offer valuable content in exchange for an email address.

How to Create a Content Lock Popup in WordPress

There are a few different ways to create content lock popups in WordPress. We’ll show you two methods:

Using the OptinMonster plugin

Using the Jetpack plugin

Both methods are quick and easy to set up. However, we recommend using OptinMonster because it comes with more features and options. Plus, it’s our #1 rated WordPress popup plugin.

Here’s a quick overview of how to create a content lock popup in WordPress using OptinMonster:

Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin

First, you’ll need to install and activate the OptinMonster plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Once the plugin is activated, you’ll need to get an OptinMonster API key.

Step 2: Get Your OptinMonster API Key

An API key is required to connect OptinMonster to your WordPress site. To get your key, log into your OptinMonster account and click on the “My Optins” tab.

Then click on the “API” tab, and you’ll see your API key listed there.

Copy and paste this key into the “OptinMonster API” field in the OptinMonster settings page on your WordPress site.

Step 3: Create a New Optin

Now it’s time to create your content lock popup. To do that, log into your OptinMonster account and click on the “Create New Optin” button.

On the next page, you’ll need to choose a campaign type. For content lock popups, we recommend using the Fullscreen campaign type.

Then give your campaign a name, and click on the “Start Building” button.

On the next page, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of templates. For content lock popups, we recommend using the “Welcome Mat” template.

Once you’ve found a template you like, click on the “Use Template” button.

Step 4: Configure Your Optin Settings

Now you’ll need to configure your optin settings. This includes things like the optin title, copy, images, and more.

For the “Display Rules” section, you’ll want to choose when and where the popup should appear. For content lock popups, we recommend targeting specific pieces of content.

To do that, click on the “Click Trigger” tab and choose the “Click on a specific element” option.

Then enter the CSS selector of the element
