Review: Indexnow Plugin by Bing

Recently, I stumbled upon this cool WordPress plugin for SEO by Bing:

It’s called “Indexnow” and it helps you index your content faster in the bing search engine.

How does it help you rank faster in the search engines?

It uses WordPress to detect automatically when your content is published to your blog, then it uses the Bing Webmaster API to send a message to bing to take a look at your new content, and put it into the bing search engine algorithm to be indexed.

In my experience, bing search traffic can be a really nice boost to your overall organic SEO traffic – it often ranks faster than the google search engine, and the Bing Webmaster tools are actually very robust and give you a lot of information about how your content is doing in the search engine.

How to Install the Bing Indexnow WordPress Plugin

Installing the bing indexnow plugin is simple:

Note: to make this work, you’ll want to set up a bing webmaster tools account first, submit your site, then verify it. That way bing will properly be able to keep track of your site.

Bonus Tip: I would also recommend submitting all of your sitemaps to the bing webmaster tools sitemaps section too.

Step 1: In your WordPress dashboard, go to “Plugins” and “Add New”

Conclusion: Does the Bing Indexnow Plugin Work?

Yes, it does work.
